Using Wicking Cloth with Tracheotomy Ties

Features from WoundCon's Wound to the Wise

Transcript

We are here with our Wound for the Wise to teach you about using silver wicking cloth around trach ties, specifically cutting it and threading it through to hold it in place to help with friction and shearing. Let me show you. So you just cut two holes, one on each side, thread the trach tie through. This will help with wrinkles too. And then you're just going to apply them like normal around the patient's neck and close your trach ties. This can be changed each day with trach tie changes depending on the manufacturer's recommendations.
