ZeniCOL-Ag

ZeniCOL-Ag is composed of silver collagen that transforms into a soft gel sheet when in contact with wound drainage. EDTA in the dressing inhibits the activity of MMPs to create a suitable healing environment and silver chloride is an effective antimicrobial intended to prevent colonization of the dressing.

Indications

ZeniCOL-Ag is for the management of full- and partial-thickness wounds including pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, ulcers caused by mixed vascular etiologies, venous ulcers, donor and graft sites, abrasions, traumatic wounds healing by secondary intention, dehisced surgical wounds, and first- and second-degree burns.

Contraindications

ZeniCOL-Ag should not be used on third-degree burns or on patients with a known allergy or sensitivity to animal derived collagen, silver, or any other ingredient.

Warnings and Precautions

If sensitivity to ZeniCOL-Ag developed, discontinue use. ZeniCOL-Ag may be used under compression therapy under the supervision of a a health care professional. The use of saline may affect the efficacy of the silver.

Store in a cool dry place and avoid light.

Mode of Use/Application

Debride and irrigate the wound bed with appropriate wound cleanser or distilled water before application. The use of saline may affect the efficacy of the silver. Cut the dressing to fit the exact wound size. For heavily draining wound, apply the dressing directly to the wound bed. For dry wounds, moisten the wound bed with distilled water to begin the gelling process.

Removal & Change Frequency

Irrigate the wound bed with appropriate wound cleanser or distilled water to remove the gel residue from the wound base. Change dressings daily or as directed.

Additional Recommended Dressings

ZeniCOL-Ag is a primary dressing and must be secured in place with an appropriate cover dressing as instructed by your medical provider.
