Indications

Maxorb® ES is indicated for use on pressure injuries, partial- and full-thickness wounds, diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers of various etiologies, surgical wounds, donor sites, and first- and second-degree burns.

Contraindications

Contraindicated for use on third-degree burns, dry wounds or for use as a surgical sponge.

Warnings and Precautions

The dressing will become gel-like as it absorbs drainage. Should any signs of irritation or sensitivity appear, discontinue use and consult a health care professional.

Storage Requirements

Store at room temperature.

Mode of Use/Application

Cleanse the wound using an appropriate wound cleanser. Remove Maxorb® ES from the package and fill the wound with the dressing, leaving at least 1" outside of the wound for easy retrieval. Cover with an appropriate absorbent secondary dressing. Note: Maxorb® ES may be cut if necessary. Discard unused product.

Removal & Change Frequency

Maxorb® ES may be left in place for up to 7 days, depending on wound condition and amount of drainage. Change when secondary dressing becomes saturated or begins to leak.

Additional Recommended Dressings

May be used with most secondary or cover dressings, such as Optifoam® Gentle silicone faced foam dressings.
